Start a Rewarding Career Helping Seniors in Their Homes

Home Care Assistance of Albuquerque is now accepting applications for our upcoming Paid Caregiver Training Program. If you are compassionate, dependable, and looking for a meaningful career, we'll provide the training and support you need to become a successful professional caregiver.

No previous caregiving experience is required. We provide paid, instructor-led training, hands-on learning, shadow shifts, and ongoing mentorship to help you build confidence and succeed.

Training spots are limited. Applicants must complete an interview before acceptance into the program.

Training Program Details

Training Dates: August 17 – August 21

Training Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Paid Training: You will be paid for all training hours at your hired hourly rate of pay.

Pay & Benefits

Starting Pay

  • $15.00–$16.00 per hour

Additional Compensation

  • $175 attendance bonus every payday
  • Overtime opportunities available

What You'll Learn

Our instructor-led training combines classroom education, hands-on practice, and real-world caregiver shadowing.

Training topics include:

  • Personal care and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Professional caregiving skills
  • HIPAA and confidentiality
  • Fall prevention and home safety
  • Safe transfers and mobility assistance
  • Meal preparation and nutrition
  • Dementia care fundamentals
  • Communication and professionalism
  • Abuse, neglect, and exploitation awareness
  • Infection prevention and safety

Caregiver Responsibilities

After successfully completing training, caregivers may assist clients with:

  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Meal preparation
  • Medication reminders
  • Mobility assistance
  • Light housekeeping
  • Transportation to appointments and errands
  • Companionship and emotional support

Our caregivers work one-on-one with clients, helping older adults remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Provide current vehicle registration and active auto insurance
  • Be available to work between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM
  • Be available to work at least 30 hours per week after training
  • Be willing to work assigned shifts, including weekends
  • Have strong communication and professionalism
  • Be authorized to work in the United States
  • Successfully pass required background and drug screenings
