Home Care Assistance of Albuquerque is currently accepting applicants for our upcoming Caregiver Training Program. This opportunity is designed for compassionate and dependable individuals interested in beginning a career in caregiving with paid training and ongoing support.
Our program combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and real-world caregiver shadowing to help prepare new caregivers for success working one-on-one with clients in their homes.
Upcoming Training Session
Next Class Begins: June 8, 2025
Training Schedule: June 8 – June 12, 2025 8am- 5pm
Service Area: Albuquerque and surrounding areas
Scheduling Requirements
To be considered for the training program, applicants must:
- Be available between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Be able to work at least 30 hours per week after training completion
What You’ll Learn
Training is instructor-led and includes hands-on practice with experienced caregivers and trainers.
Topics covered include:
- Introduction to caregiving and client support
- HIPAA and confidentiality practices
- Personal care assistance techniques
- Meal preparation and nutrition basics
- Fall prevention and home safety
- Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation awareness
- Mobility and transfer assistance
- Shadow shifts with experienced caregivers
- Professional communication and caregiving expectations
Pay & Compensation
- Starting pay between $15.00 – $16.00 per hour
- Raise after 6 months
- $175 bonus opportunities every payday
- Overtime opportunities available

Caregiver Responsibilities
After successful completion of training, caregivers may assist clients with:
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting
- Support mobility and transfers
- Meal preparation
- Companionship and emotional support
- Light housekeeping
- Transportation and errands
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to complete background screening and drug screening requirements
- Ability to safely assist clients with mobility using proper equipment and training
