What This Role Is (And What It’s Not)

What it IS:

A role focused on coaching, mentoring, and building life skills. You’ll be helping adults with disabilities grow their independence – like helping them budget, cook, job search, explore the community, or build new routines.

What it is NOT:

This is not a medical or hands-on caregiving role. You won’t be assisting with toileting, bathing, feeding, or physical care tasks.

Your Day-to-Day Might Include:

• Life Coach – Help clients reach personal goals, whether it’s applying for jobs, learning to cook, or managing their money.
• Hype Squad Energy – Celebrate their wins and help troubleshoot challenges.
• Field Guide to the Real World – Support clients during grocery runs, public transit, community events, etc.
• Safety & Self-Advocacy – Teach clients how to stay safe, handle emergencies, and speak up for themselves.
• Record Keeper – Keep notes on progress and share updates with the team.
• Connector – Build relationships with families, social workers, and the broader support network.

Requirements:

Here’s what you’ll need:

• Must be 18+
• Valid CA Driver’s License + reliable transportation
• Pass background check & drug screen
• Clear TB test & vehicle inspection
• Willing to get CPR/First Aid certified (we’ll help with that!)
