Home Care Assistance of Albuquerque is seeking compassionate and reliable individuals interested in starting a rewarding career as an In-Home Caregiver Trainee. No prior caregiving experience is required. Our Caregiver Development Program (CDP) provides paid, hands-on training to prepare you for success in the field.
Next Training Class: February 16th, 2025 – February 20th, 2025
Location: Albuquerque and surrounding communities
Availability Requirements:
- Must be available to work within the hours of 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week
Training Program Overview
As a Caregiver Trainee, you will attend a full week of hands-on, instructor-led training with an experienced and supportive trainer. Training includes:
- HIPAA compliance
- Duties and expectations of a caregiver
- Cooking and meal preparation
- Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation (ANE) awareness
- Advance directives
- Skills lab and hands-on practice
- Fall prevention techniques
- Shadowing an experienced caregiver
- And much more

Job Responsibilities
Caregivers provide non-medical, in-home support to seniors, including:
- Personal care (bathing, hygiene, grooming, toileting)
- Meal preparation and special diets
- Mobility assistance and transfers
- Light housekeeping, errands, and transportation
- Companionship and emotional support
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Reliable vehicle with valid insurance and registration
- Strong communication skills
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Physical ability to assist with transfers up to 150 lbs. using assistive devices
