POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides custodial, personal, and some skilled care under nurse delegation to clients contracting with Assisting Hands. Care is delivered in compliance with a Plan of Care designated by a Registered Nurse (RN), primarily in the client's residence.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients (light housekeeping, laundry, etc.).
- Assist clients with personal hygiene and daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility).
- Provide nutritional support and assist with feeding as needed.
- Monitor and report changes in client condition to the RN.
- Assist with mobility aids (wheelchair, walker, hoyer lift).
- Support with prescribed exercises and special diets.
- Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).
- Document and keep records of all personal care activities.
- Assist with the self-administration of medication, including preparing and handing over medications.
- Follow infection control protocols and handwashing practices per CDC guidelines.
- Comply with all agency policies, procedures, and training standards.
Additional Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Nursing Assistant Certification from the Maryland Board of Nursing (in good standing).
- Evidence of formal training and certification per state law.
- Physical ability to lift over 50 lbs and perform duties including bending, kneeling, standing, and assisting with transfers.
- Strong observation and communication skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and work independently.
- At least 1 year of experience in home care or long-term care (preferred).
